I am pleased to announce that I will be speaking with an esteemed list of panelists on the subject that is dear to e-storm’s hearts – analytics.
More precisely though, the panel is about “Marketers: Is the Metrics Meltdown Your Fault?”. Although analytics has been dear to our hearts here, it is clear that even today, analytics hasn’t lived up to its promise. We know from experience since implementing web site analytics, paid search, organic, display or social media analytics is not easy technically, organizationally and politically. Don’t even mention multichannel analytics and attribution!
This panel moderated by Jim Sterne, President of Target Marketing, Chairman of Web Analytics Association should be interesting as I think each panelist will come from different backgrounds and experiences on what is impeding marketers and agencies from implementing deep analytics that gets the maximum “juice” (read ROI).
Join me and thousands of marketers at OMMA Global. This year, you have no excuses, it’s FREE (for MediaPost members which is also FREE) – a bold move by the organizers.
OMMA Global San Francisco
When: Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at 11:30am
Where: San Francisco
What: Everyone seems to agree: marketing metrics do not live up to their potential. You optimistically allot a budget for measurement tools to collect precious data, but then there seems to be a breakdown when it comes to training people to use the tools and paying analysts to interpret and communicate the findings. Why is this proving to be so hard? This panel will take a clear-eyed look at who is really at fault for this breakdown. Is it your agencies, the consultants, the economy or you? Or, is it all of the above? By realistically discussing the mistakes and faulty assumptions across the industry, our experts will uncover the ways you can fix your metrics efforts. We’ll show how you can adjust your approach to metrics so at long last your data can give you the timely insights you need.

- Usama Fayyad, CEO, Open Insights
