SMX-East welcomes e-storm’s Mathew Guiver to discuss future of Google+

e-storm’s Paid Search Manager Mathew Guiver is headed to New York in September to speak at  this year’s SMX East conference.

The SMX Selection Committee chose Mathew’s Advanced Track Pitch he submitted last month – What Every Paid Search Marketer Needs To Know About Google +1 – which was among the hundreds of pitches SMX received.

The +1 panel is scheduled Tuesday, September 13 at 10:45 a.m.

Mathew’s Thoughts on Attending SMX-East

I am excited to take part in SMX East. Not only do I love New York, but I am looking forward to sharing my thoughts on Google +1, and representing e-storm international at the conference.

I try to stay one step ahead of other marketers. I like to think about what’s next in online marketing.

As John F. Kennedy famously said ‘those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future.’

That is why the focus of my presentation will take a look at the future affects of Google +1 on paid search advertising. Right now, we only know that +1 votes have only shown to increase click through rates, big deal right?

Well, if you step back and think of all the potential implications of +1 on paid search, then it is pretty exciting to imagine how social communities now have the potential to revolutionize pay per click advertising.

About The Panel

Google’s new “+1″ experiment allows searchers to publicly show what they like, agree with, or recommend on the web.

And not just for algorithmic search results, but for ads as well. Google is using +1 results to make results more personalized for individuals – but Matt Cutts also said “we’ll look at it as a potential signal to improve search quality as well.”

How will +1?s affect things like Quality Score or CPCs? Is this the next step forward in retargeting for ads? Come hear our panelists take a deep dive into the new program.
