bitHeads Inc., the leading outsourcing firm specializing in custom web application development, was bringing in business from customers around the globe. However, with fierce competition from India and China, bitHeads hold on the U.S market was slipping. In order to retain customers and convert more prospects, they needed to reposition themselves in the U.S market

A Value Proposition Supplied by the Competition

Our first task was to gain a deeper understanding of the specific needs of U.S customers. Over a ten-week period, we conducted an extensive market research project to collect data from decision-makers within U.S companies. We assessed the metrics they considered when evaluating outsourcing firms, including skills, pricing and experience.

In addition, we conducted a survey among 25 of bitHeads' competitors in India, China, and Eastern Europe to determine gaps and opportunities in skill sets, pricing, project management, and quality assurance. Through our findings, we discovered that bitHeads could capitalize on their company's reputation.

BitHeads was able to differentiate itself by promoting its specialized talent and track record, rather than just competing on price. Now the company has established a US sales office and enjoys an expanded US customer list.
