IMS HealthUsability is the Best Medicine |
|
Doctors are always extolling the benefits of preventative medicine. It makes sense, then, that healthcare companies would take the same proactive approach with the vitality of their web sites.
Such is the case of IMS Health, a leader in worldwide healthcare that collects and analyzes pharmaceutical information. When their revamped corporate site was in beta testing, they wanted an unbiased analysis of information flow, and an honest appraisal of whether the site was in sync with current usability standards. It was critical for them to receive a high level of positive customer feedback.
From a usability perspective, we conducted a comprehensive study of the beta site, which included reviewing the navigation, structure, logic, and form documents, as well as the compositional consistency of each web page. Our recommendations included shortening feedback forms so they're more legible and understandable; altering the navigation to improve flow; and improving naming conventions to ensure intuitive site logic. In some areas, we brought in our copywriting team to improve clarity. After implementing our suggestions, IMS Health experienced a 30% increase in positive customer feedback.
